When the company first started up, the rollers were engraved using various electrical systems. This period also saw the gradual introduction of the technology necessary for the embossing and the subsequent production of duplex cylinders for the manufacture of embossed wall paper which required the use of two differentiated cylinders.

Three years' later, in 1975, the German group, Walter Wetzel GMBH, acquired a majority interest in the company.

Ziraba increased its corporate capital to 35 million pesetas and the new Board of Directors purchased a 15,500 m2 plot of land on the Landaben industrial estate for four million pesetas. The present factory was then constructed, and the sales revenues at the time already reached 360.600 euro.

The first innovatory contribution made by the German group concerned the roller preparation for printing wall paper by means of the rotogravure printing process. In fact, the incorporation of this group has been decisive to the very success of this Navarre company.

Since then, the company has placed great emphasis on its continuous technological development in order to adapt to the increasingly advanced engraving systems.

Today, with some modern installations of 3,000 m2 meters and equipped with state-of-the art machinery, Ziraba specialises in digital laser engraving.

Targeting sectors as varied as the wall paper, packing and packaging or ceramic industries, amongst others, Ziraba has recently acquired a new digital laser copier for photo-polymer work, which is undoubtedly destined to become the Company's star product.

With a strong presence in the domestic market and with 30% of its production exported, principally to the European and South American markets, Ziraba bases its market success on a philosophy of constant innovation, supported by the use of state-of-the-art technologies and the continuous training of its staff of 45 people.

A further reason for the company's success is undoubtedly its incorporation into the German group, RSD Tecknik. Ziraba is now working together with this group on digital developments and continuous engraving. The company's management is aware that there is still a long way to go as far as new technologies and innovative materials are concerned.
